BASIC PRINCIPLE OF LIQUID OXYGEN-NITROGEN PLANT

Step – 1: Compression of Atmospheric Air By Air Compressor

Our Latest Air Compressor of Atlas Copco is employed to compress air at 5-7 Bar. The screw/centifrigal type advanced technology is employed in the compressor replacing old bulky piston compressor. The Atlas Copco compressor reaches to our customers after passing through the detailed testing and check to ensure optimal performance for all installations. The component is air cooled and oil free meaning it neither requires water nor oil.

Step – 2: Pre Cooling System

The second stage of the process uses a low pressure refrigerant for pre-cooling system to process the air to temperature around 12 0C before it reaches into the purifier.

Step – 3: Purification of Air by Purifier

In this step, the air allows to pass through a number of stages to remove the impurities available for instance dust, hydrocarbons and Carbon Dioxide. Our latest molecular sieve from Zeochem of Switzerland is very effectual to remove CO2.

Step – 4: Separation of Liquid Air into Oxygen and Nitrogen in Air Separation Column

After getting the air free from oil, moisture and carbon dioxide, it enters into low pressure plate fin type Heat exchanger where the air gets cooled below sub zero temperatures by air expansion process in the cryogenic expander. The cryogenic expander cools the air to temperature almost below -165 to-170 deg C. Air gets liquefied when it enters the air separation column & gets separated into oxygen & nitrogen by the process of rectification. The liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen comes up a purity of 99.7% and 99.99% respectively.

Step – 5: Product storage

The liquid oxygen/nitrogen can be filled in cryogenic liquid tanks. It is advised to equip power insulation cryogenic storage tank. Available in different capacities, the election of storage tank is subject to the requirement of the customer.

Pre-Cooler System

Cold Box

Also known as air separation column, cold box consists of a carbon steel casing, usually rectangular in shape that supports and houses outlet steel casing, main heat exchanger, liquefier, bottom column, top column, condenser, sub cooler, liquid oxygen and nitrogen filter. Cooling pipe line, insulation material, digital electronic temperature indicator and scanner, PT 100 sensor, DP gauge manometer, Expansion valve with longstemp type with pointer and index & wheel (Stainless Steel column argon welded to meet European specifications can be supplied).
